We are excited to add another aircraft to our fleet. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has cleared a King Air 200 to be added to Southern Sky Aviation’s Part 135 charter certificate.
The King Air was the first aircraft in its class and has been in continuous production since 1964. It is used worldwide by the US military and is a true workhorse of the skies – some call it the SUV of the skies. Our King Air seats seven passengers and offers a 1,452 nautical mile range with a cruising speed of up to 313 miles per hour.
This addition to Southern Sky Aviation’s fleet will be based at our corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama (BHM). The company also operates charters from bases in Scottsdale, Arizona (SDL) and Atlanta’s Peachtree-DeKalb (PDK).
The King Air, expands SSA’s capabilities by adding one of the most popular business turboprops in the world with exceptional passenger comfort, state-of-the-art technology and 50-plus cubic feet of baggage space. As with all SSA charter flights, this aircraft provides on board coffee, snacks, a full bar and additional passenger requested items.
